An AI mock interview is a practice interview with an AI interviewer instead of a person. It asks a question, listens to your spoken answer, asks a natural follow-up, and then tells you how the answer landed.
The point is repetition without an audience. Reading model answers helps you know what to say; only saying it out loud, under a little pressure, shows whether you can. A mock interview gives you that pressure on demand, as often as you need, with feedback after every response rather than a vague "that went well".
You answer out loud, the way you will on the day. A live transcript shows exactly what you said.
The interviewer responds to your answer, so a vague claim gets probed just as a person would probe it.
Each answer gets a score and coach notes on structure, clarity and delivery, so you know what to change.
Sessions are saved to your history so you can replay answers and see progress over time.
Four steps, about as long as a real first-round interview. Repeat it until your answers sound like you on a good day.
Enter the role you are applying for, then choose the round: HR, behavioural, technical or a high-pressure stress round. Add a company or industry for targeted practice.
Warm up with Sarah, go deep with Marcus, or stress-test your answers against Rachel or David. Same questions, very different pressure.
The AI interviewer asks, listens and follows up in real time. Speak as you would in the room; there is no typing and no multiple choice.
See a score for every answer, coach tips on what to tighten, delivery metrics such as pace and filler words, and a recording to replay.
Real interviews vary as much by who is asking as by what is asked. Practise with all four so no style catches you off guard.
Warm and encouraging. Ideal for warming up and building confidence.
"Take your time. Walk me through how you approached it."
Best for: your first sessions, and rehearsing your stories until they flow.
Precise and detail-focused. Digs into how you would actually do the work.
"How would that hold up at ten times the scale?"
Best for: technical rounds and anything where you must explain your reasoning.
Fast-paced and direct. Pushes back hard on vague answers.
"That is a lot of words. What did you personally do?"
Best for: stress-testing your answers before a high-pressure panel.
Polite on the surface, quietly sceptical. Tests your composure.
"Interesting. I suppose that could work, in theory."
Best for: practising staying calm when you can't read the room.
Each round tests something different. Practise the one you are about to face, then the one you are dreading.
"Tell me about yourself", "Why this role?", "Why should we hire you?" The questions that decide whether you get to the next stage. Read our guide to answering "Tell me about yourself".
"Tell me about a time…" questions on teamwork, conflict, failure and leadership. Structure answers with the STAR method and practise until each story takes under two minutes.
Explain how you would build, debug or analyse something, and defend your trade-offs when Marcus asks what happens at ten times the scale.
Rapid follow-ups, interruptions and sceptical reactions. Practise staying calm and concise when the interviewer is not on your side.
Case interviews are covered too: choose the Management Consultant role for market sizing, profitability and market-entry cases.
Generic advice like "be more confident" is useless the night before an interview. The feedback is tied to what you actually said.
Each answer is scored on correctness, completeness, communication and confidence, plus vocal delivery when it's available. You get what worked, what to improve and a sample answer for every question, and an overall score for the session.
Every method has a place. Here is an honest comparison.
| Method | Good for | Limits |
|---|---|---|
| Reading model answers | Learning what good answers contain | You never hear yourself say it, so gaps stay hidden until the interview |
| Practising in front of a mirror | Rehearsing wording and body language | No follow-up questions and no objective feedback |
| A friend or mentor | Realistic conversation and personal advice | Hard to schedule often; feedback depends on their experience |
| Paid human coaching | Expert, tailored guidance for big moments | Costly to repeat many times |
| AI mock interview | Unlimited repetitions, follow-ups, a score for every answer and a recording | Practice, not a substitute for knowing the role and the company |
If your interview is a week away, this is a realistic routine. Around 30 minutes a day is enough.

HR and screening questions, behavioural "tell me about a time" questions, technical questions for your role, and high-pressure follow-ups. The interviewer follows up based on what you actually said.
